Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Georgieva, Dean of the International Business School (IBS), participated in an exciting event, ERASMUS+ BIP Regional Research Methodology and Ethics – REME, held at Šiauliai Academy of Vilnius University (VU ŠA) in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. This is an intensive training program for bachelor’s and master’s students from the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, and Ukraine. It provides them with unique opportunities to develop their competencies for the proper and effective use of scientific methods and approaches in their research and practice in the fields of public administration, management, and economics.

During her lectures, students were introduced to the possibilities of practical application of the Delphi method, its advantages and disadvantages, and the requirements for its individual phases of implementation. The results of its application in the scientific project of IBS, “Development and Testing of a Model for Assessing the Innovation Potential of Global Value Chains as a Basis for Increasing Regional Competitiveness,” also sparked interest.

In addition to theoretical training, the 22 future researchers actively participated in a workshop and applied their new knowledge on the use of the Delphi method in practice. This hands-on experience allowed them to exercise the Delphi method and see how it could be applied in real research projects.

After the training, all students were extremely satisfied and motivated. They found the training to be very beneficial, expressing that they now feel much more confident in their research skills, which is crucial for their academic and professional careers. They also expressed satisfaction with the international aspect of the event, which allowed them to meet and network with instructors from 5 different countries.

The students expressed their desire to have another opportunity to benefit from the academic expertise and practical skills of Assoc. Prof. Daniela Georgieva. The good news is that their training will continue in October in an online environment, bringing them more knowledge and interesting surprises.
