The students majoring in ‘Tourism and Entrepreneurship’ were inspired to support nature conservation initiatives following a meeting with the executive director of WWF Bulgaria, Mrs. Veselina Kavrakova. In a personal conversation with her, they familiarized themselves with the functions of Civil Organizations. The lively discussion included the legal framework, financing, and challenges facing NGOs.
The meeting, organized by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dessislava Alexova, lecturer in the disciplines “Non-Governmental Organizations in Tourism” and “Cultural-Historical Heritage of Bulgaria,” was a valuable and inspiring experience for them, revealing the importance of civil organizations in the context of tourism and nature conservation.
WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) is one of the leading global organizations dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and its resources. Through scientific research, projects, and partnerships with local communities, WWF works to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable management of natural resources.
The visit was a source of new knowledge and skills for implementing sustainable tourism policies and protecting our planet!
