IBSB and the Bulgarian News Agency Signed a Cooperation Agreement
At an official meeting held at the International Business School of Bulgaria (IBSB), the President of IBSB, Mrs. Lena Gaydarska, and the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), Mr. Kiril Valchev, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov, Rector of IBS, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Baltova, Vice-Rector of IBS.
Key Areas of Cooperation
The agreement outlines a strategic partnership in several key areas:
- Participation of IBSB students in internship and training programs at BTA, with opportunities for long-term employment.
- Scientific and public discussions and forums on current topics organized by BTA, featuring participation from the IBSB academic community.
- A primary priority is creating opportunities for young people to encourage them to stay in Bulgaria, pursue their education, and build their careers here.
“The purpose of this agreement is to promote the activities of Bulgarian universities not only within the country but also abroad, thereby attracting international students and encouraging Bulgarian youth to study in Bulgaria,” said Mr. Kiril Valchev. He added, “Bulgarian universities have very active lives. BTA will serve as a media partner of IBSB for various university initiatives and events by disseminating information about them.”
A Platform for the IBSB Academic Community
Mr. Valchev emphasized that the agency aims to provide a platform for the academic community of IBSB, including through the “Knowledge and Culture” section of the magazine LIK, and to publish at least 52 articles annually related to the university’s activities. “A common challenge for scientists is the difficulty of presenting their work in an accessible way, and this is where the role of journalists comes in,” he added.
He also highlighted the agency’s “BG Tourism” initiative, which relies on IBSB faculty for its forums: “Every year, we organize this forum to discuss the prospects and positioning of Bulgaria as a tourist destination. Given the high level of expertise you have in the person of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Baltova, former Minister of Tourism, I believe that your participation in future forums will be particularly valuable.”
Promoting the Messages, Achievements, and International Development of IBS
“I was deeply moved by all this information,” shared Mrs. Lena Gaydarska, expressing hope that this partnership would mark the beginning of a systematic approach to communicating the university’s messages and achievements. She emphasized: “IBSB is the result of international cooperation between two countries—Bulgaria and Denmark. This educational model has successfully adapted to Bulgarian conditions, enabling us to secure a respectable place within a conservative system and establish ourselves as a prestigious educational institution, not only nationally but also internationally. According to the latest university ranking system in Bulgaria, IBSB ranks among the top 10 overall and first among private higher education institutions in the country.”
“We are an example of the positive developments happening in Bulgarian higher education,” Mrs. Gaydarska added. She noted that IBSB has successfully built a modern and welcoming educational infrastructure entirely independently, without external financial support, and has educated over 30,000 students across three academic levels: bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
“The most important thing is to shine a light for young people so they can live in Bulgaria, where their roots are. To give their lives meaning here, to provide them with opportunities for professional development, and at the same time to instill in them the sense of being part of an international community,” she concluded.
Science and Culture: Two Inseparable Parts of IBS’s Mission
“IBS is not only a place for education but also a place where spiritual communication between people takes place. We have created the conditions and host many scientific, cultural, and charitable events,” noted Mrs. Gaydarska. “I believe that the collaboration with BTA will contribute to the even broader promotion of these initiatives and inspire young people to actively participate in them.”
Accessible, Internationally Recognized Education Without Borders
Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov emphasized that the distance learning programs offered by IBS attract the interest of Bulgarians living abroad as well as international students from various countries, including Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Colombia, Israel, Albania, Guinea, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Germany, and England. He expressed confidence that BTA’s information channels would help in attracting even more students from abroad.
