The International Business School (IBS) hosted the inspiring forum “Business by Design,” part of the National Program “Innovation in Action,” organized in partnership with the Elisaveta Vazova High School of Design.

The forum became a platform for connection between young talents, inspiring educators, and representatives of higher education—all united by a shared commitment to innovation in learning and the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit among youth. During the event, students presented original business projects developed under the guidance of Dr. Rumyana Antova, showcasing impressive creativity, critical thinking, and genuine entrepreneurial potential.

The event was opened by Mrs. Daniela Shoshova, Principal of the High School. On behalf of IBS, an official welcome was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stella Baltova, Vice-Rector of the university, who stated:

“Today we come together, united by a shared passion for education and a belief in the power of innovation to transform and enhance the way we learn and grow. This event is an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build connections that will help us develop our schools into true centers of innovation. I am deeply satisfied to see students become knowledgeable and capable individuals—creating with a sense of what is innovative, meaningful, and valuable. They demonstrated critical and self-reflective thinking—true designers of their own future.”

Among the official guests of the event were IBS faculty members – Prof. Dr. Lalka Borisova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gergana Rashkova – whose professionalism added significant academic value to the forum. A particularly inspiring presence was that of Tiyana Doncheva, a student in the “Business Administration and Project Management” program at IBS, who motivated the students with her enthusiasm, personal example, and strong commitment to growth and engagement.

The business projects presented impressed with their diversity and originality—ranging from fashion boutiques and art shops to hidden-location cafes and stands for cycling accessories. The atmosphere of the event was filled with energy, ideas, and enthusiasm—a true celebration of youth potential and innovation.

IBS believes that a strong connection between secondary and higher education is essential for shaping well-prepared, responsible, and innovative young leaders. Higher education plays a crucial role in building upon the foundations of “business design” by offering opportunities for development through in-depth knowledge, practical experience, and a modern learning environment.
