Semester fees for the academic year 2024/2025

Educational Qualification Level: BACHELOR

  1. Semester Fee for the First and Second Year of Study in Bulgarian-language Programs: 1620 leva, payable:
  • In full upon enrollment in the semester: 1620 lv.
  • In installments of two equal payments:

        – First installment: 860 lv. – upon enrollment in the semester

        – Second installment: 860 lv. – for the winter semester by November 30 – for the summer semester by March 31

  1. Semester Fee for the Third and Fourth Year of Study in Bulgarian-language Programs: 1320 leva, payable:
  • In full upon enrollment in the semester: 1320 lv.
  • In installments of two equal payments:

      – First installment: 710 lv. – upon enrollment in the semester

      – Second installment: 710 lv.- for the winter semester by November 30 – for the summer semester by March 31

  1. Semester Fee for the First Year of Study in English-language Programs:
  • Bulgarian citizens: 1300 euros
  • EU citizens: 1300 euros
  • Non-EU citizens: 2100 euros
  1. Enrollment in an additional discipline under an individual study plan: 405 Lv.

Educational Qualification Degree: MASTER’S

  1. Semester Fee for Bulgarian-language Programs: 1620 lv.
  2. Semester Fee for Study in English-language Programs:
  • Bulgarian citizens: 1300 euros
  • EU citizens: 1300 euros
  • Non-EU citizens: 2300 euros

Educational and Scientific Degree: DOCTOR

Annual Tuition Fee:

  • Bulgarian citizens, regular and independent form of study: 3500 lv.
  • Bulgarian citizens, correspondence form of study: 3300 lv.
  • Non-EU citizens: 3500 euros

Defense of Doctoral Dissertation:

  • Bulgarian citizens: 1800 lv.
  • Non-EU citizens: 1800 euros

In case the student does not pay the tuition fees within the deadlines specified by IBS, he/she owes a penalty on the unpaid amounts in the amount of 0.5% per day until their full payment.

If the student does not pay the tuition fee or does not pay the penalty, this is a ground for the IBS to refuse to certify the respective semester and not to register him/her for the educational process.

Tuition fees paid are not refundable by the IBS:

  • In case of discontinuation of studies due to the student’s fault;
  • For enrolled first semester of the first year;
  • In case of discontinuation of the course of study after the first year, at the request of the student, IBS shall refund him/her:
  • 50% of the paid tuition fee for the respective semester, when the request is received before the start of studies in that semester;
  • 25% of the paid tuition fee for the respective semester, when the request is received within 30 days after the start of studies in that semester

The annual tuition fee for doctoral programs is not refundable.

Administrative Fees

  • Entrance examination for Bulgarian and English-language programs: 50 lv.
  • Issuance of an individual protocol for taking a semester exam after a regular and re-examination session: 25 lv.
  • Issuance of an individual protocol for taking an exam in order to change the grade: 25 lv.
  • Access to a course for students with extended study period: 60 leva
  • Academic recognition, through NACID, of a higher education degree acquired abroad, for the purpose of continuing studies at IBS: 200 lv.
  • Issuance of an Academic Certificate to persons with terminated or without student rights (including graduates, expelled, left or released): 50 lv,
  • Third appearance on the State Exam: 100 lv.
  • Issuance of a duplicate diploma for completed HE qualification level: 100 lv.
  • Graduation: 50 lv.

Administrative fees are not refundable in case of refusal of the student or applicant from the service.

Tuition Fee Discounts:

  1. 50% reduction on the semester fee for people with disabilities (with a TELK certificate) of 75% or more for bachelor’s programs.
  2. For high academic achievement in obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in English programs:
  • 400 Euros for the first year, valid for all applicants from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens) with a GPA of at least 5.00 (“very good”) from their high school diploma.
  • 400 Euros for each subsequent year of study with a GPA of at least 5.00 (“very good”).
  1. For high academic achievement in obtaining a Master’s degree in English programs:
  • 400 Euros for the first year, valid for all applicants from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens) with a GPA of at least 5.00 (“very good”) from their bachelor’s degree.
  1. For family members studying in all programs at IBS, for all applicants from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens):
  • 10% for the second and each subsequent family member (spouses, siblings, parents, and children) who graduated from IBS no more than five years ago.
  • 25% for each second family member studying at the same time.
  1. For a one-time payment of the fee for the entire academic year:
  • 10% for all students from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens) for obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree in programs in Bulgarian and English.
  1. For continuing education in a Master’s degree after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at IBS:
  • 10% for all students from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens) in all programs in Bulgarian and English.
  1. For early enrollment for a Bachelor’s degree by April 1 and for a Master’s degree by July 1:
  • 10% for all students from the EU and non-EU countries (including Bulgarian citizens) in all programs in Bulgarian and English.

Every enrolled student or doctoral student at IBS is entitled to use only one discount per academic year.

  • with a bank card at a POS terminal at IBS administrative offices;
  • by bank transfer, through online banking or Easy Pay – the fee is deposited into IBS’s bank account
