With plenty of emotions, smiles, and pride, the Class of 2024 of the International Business School of Bulgaria received their diplomas at a festive ceremony in the presence of their professors, families, and friends. Every journey has its end, but this end is just the beginning of a path toward something greater and more exciting—especially when you graduate from IBS, equipped with unique knowledge, skills, and opportunities!

The event was opened by Associate Professor Dr. Ivan Andreev, Vice-Rector of IBSB, who welcomed the attendees. He emphasized the importance of the students’ efforts and academic spirit: “Dear graduates, thank you for trusting us to walk together on the path of knowledge. You are the future leaders in business and society, who will excel in your professional journeys with your creative ideas and innovative solutions. May the light of knowledge inspire you to achieve your dreams. Always cherish and carry in your hearts our Alma Mater – the International Business School.”

The Rector of IBSB, Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov, also delivered a warm and emotional message to the Class of 2024, their families, and friends. Prof. Apostolov emphasized that the knowledge and skills acquired at the university are just part of the wealth that the graduates will carry with them. He noted that the shared ideas, experiences, and friendships formed during their academic journey are equally invaluable gifts.

Prof. Apostolov urged the graduates to use their knowledge and skills to show the world what it means to be an IBSB alumnus and wished them continued success in establishing themselves as responsible and ethical individuals, making significant contributions to the economy and society while inspiring and leading by example.

A particularly emotional moment came when the Rector highlighted that IBSB will always be their home, ready to welcome them back—whether in pursuit of new knowledge, to share their achievements, or simply to reminisce about their student years

The Rector personally presented the diplomas for the educational and qualification degrees of “Bachelor” and “Master” to each graduate. Among those honored with the IBS honorary statuette and a certificate for outstanding academic achievement were Teodora Emilova Ivanova from the Master’s program “Digital Marketing” and Anelia Georgieva Stoyanova from the Master’s program “Accounting and Auditing”.

In her speech, Teodora expressed her gratitude to her professors “for their knowledge, shared experience, and professionalism,” to her family, who had been her pillar of support, and most of all to her husband, who always supported and believed in her, even when she doubted herself. She encouraged her colleagues to continue developing themselves, emphasizing the value of education not only as a source of knowledge but also as a way to grow as individuals: “The true value of education is not only in the knowledge we have gained but also in how we have grown as people. I wish you further academic achievements. Never stop learning and growing.”

Teodora concluded with the hope that her success would inspire future generations now embarking on their educational journeys.

In this deeply significant and emotional moment for Teodora, standing beside her on the podium was her young daughter, who shared her dream of one day studying at her mother’s university—the International Business School of Bulgaria.

In this deeply significant and emotional moment for Teodora, standing closely beside her on the podium was her young daughter, who shared that when she grows up, she wants to study at her mother’s university—the International Business School of Bulgaria.

On behalf of the Student Council of IBS and the entire student community, congratulations to the graduates were delivered by Tiyana Doncheva, Vice-Chair of the Student Council. She emphasized that their true success depends on their determination and ability to overcome challenges. Tiyana noted that obstacles along the way are opportunities for growth and highlighted that success is not measured solely by personal achievements but also by helping others and making a positive contribution to society.

Quoting Nelson Mandela, she urged the graduates to wisely use “the most powerful weapon” they possess—their education—to change the world, while also maintaining their connection with our academic community. Finally, she wished them courage, faith in their abilities, and success in their future endeavors.

The ceremony concluded with the traditional tossing of caps into the air, symbolizing the farewell to university years. Laughter, tears, and countless hugs filled the hall and the corridors of the university. A generation of students embarked on a new journey with heads held high, confident that they are ready to conquer new heights in the business world.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
